The Zendit System gives you the
tools you need to
protect your digital rights and privacy by making it easy to encrypt,
digitally sign and authenticate the information you send and receive
over the Internet. Available now, the Zendit System lays the foundation
for you to become an empowered, encryption-enabled net user so you can
ensure that the confidentiality and integrity of your personal
information is protected. When you click the "Zendit" button instead of
"send" you take control of the encryption process, locally on YOUR
computer

When you download the Zendit System, you are prompted to generate what cryptographers
refer to as a "Public Key" and a "Private Key." To make the concept a
little easier to understand, Zendit prefers to call them...

By helping to
standardize the use of encryption, we attain many of the things that we
take for granted in "real" life—envelopes on mail, locks on our homes,
filing cabinets, storage space, the ability to digitally sign our credit
cards, and even the ability to pay cash for things without our personal
information being associated with our purchases.


Powerful PGP: |

The
Zendit System uses encryption algorithms which adheres to the open PGP
standards. PGP, the worldwide standard for email encryption,
is a “strong” 128-bit encryption system. Not surprising, “strong
encryption” is better than “weak encryption”: more bits mean a higher
level of protection. |

Public Locks and
Private Keys
Once you have your Public Lock and Private Key, you are officially
encryption-enabled. Now you can Lock (encrypt) your data with your
Public Lock so that only you can access it (with your Private Key), or
you can send and receive data to and from others using their Public Lock
so that they are the only ones who can open it, using (of course) their
Private Key. |

Say What?
The beauty of Zendit is you don't
have to completely understand how it works because the system
takes care of the process for you. For instance, you don’t have to
track down anyone else’s Public Lock when you want to Zendit. All
you have to do is click "zendit" and the Zendit System will take
care of the rest! |
What If?
Don’t worry. If the
person you are sending email to isn't encryption-enabled, we'll
give you the opportunity to encryption-enable them! If you
select this option, the Zendit System generates an Interim
Lock and Key for the recipient and you can encrypt an email to
them. |

The growing suite of
Sovereign clients includes Browser, Web page, Outlook, Desktop, and in the
near future Macintosh, Java, Windows CE and Palm. These clients are
designed with the idea of ease of use.

Browser—The Surfboard Browser Trust Client allows users to encrypt and/or sign and
decrypt and/or verify web pages. Currently this includes 40+ web-based
email systems, including Hotmail and Yahoo Mail, among others. The
Surfboard provides simple to use user interface for the Web Entry system
allowing users to digitally sign access to web-based resources. Unlike
other less secure schemes all encryption and decryption happens on the
client.

Web page—Browser Initiated Sovereign (BIZ) allows web pages to initiate the
encrypt, sign, decrypt and verify functions seamlessly without the need of
selecting an additional button. All encryption and decryption still
happens on the client.

Outlook—The Outlook Trust Client allows the encryption, signing, decryption and
verifying functions in the easy to use Outlook email interface. The
Outlook Trust Client can be configured to automatically encrypt and sign all
outbound mail without a change in the user experience.

Desktop—Currently the Desktop Trust Client is available for Windows 95, 98, XP,
and ME, NT, 2000. It allows the encryption and decryption of files
locally on a computer.

Web Entry—Next generation of authentication. A digital signature web access
control scheme wherein the user “drags and drops” a digital key/digital
identity off the surfboard onto a web page. The web page generates a
random number, which is signed by the users private key. The signature
is verified with the users public key and the user is granted or denied
access.
